Hi,

with an up to date pretest TL 2013, I get with a file that used to work
nicely with TL 2012:

(/usr/local/texlive/2013/texmf-dist/tex/generic/babel/babel.sty
! You can't use `spacefactor' in vertical mode.

?

If needed, I'll try to build an MCE.
