Folks,

I cannot let this go by. unanswered.

Karl Berry wrote "For the record, proTeXt is not

Actually, not at all like the relationship of MacTeX and TL,

MacTeX installs an unaltered full version of TeX Live.

It just adds a few extra pieces like Ghostscript, convert
from Image Magick, and some GUI apps so that everything
is configured and ready to use.
