I am not familiar with the procedure, thanks for the explanations
As it turned out I had compiled the binaries back in November 
(precisely for the xetex+pstricks+Ghostscript 9.15 problem)
and
again early March from the svn trunk, thus I guess I can already copy 
them to my pre-TL2015 tree, as a temporary measure
