I have "LaTeX: problems after {1} page" with auctex 11.89 and 11.90 and GNU 
Emacs 25.2.1 and pdflatex of TeX Live 2017 but not with TeX Live 2016.

Test file was:

\documentclass{article}\begin{document}test\end{document}
 
It seems the regular expression for the LaTeX-Version check in tex-buf.el 
doesn't work for TL2017, because it search for a line like:

LaTeX2e <2017/01/01>

that is missing in the log-file of TeX Live 2017.
