OK, I've reported a bug to the Debian BTS (I thought that this
was a Debian independent issue).

Note that the \papertype was not added by me, but is part of the
testpage.tex file.

Yes, A4 is what I want in general. I used a5paper for testing
PDF viewers (I needed to generate a PDF file with Mediaboxes
of increasing sizes, so e.g. A5 and A4).
