First, that's not the ``Mac `Download Manager''', but an element
specific / unique to Internet Explorer.

That said, I was able to get this download started here at work in
Internet Explorer 5.2 in Mac OS X 10.2.6, so it would seem to be a
difficulty w/ your internet provider / settings.

Have you tried using some other FTP client?

Different Drummer's rBrowser is quite nice (I may be biased here, since
it's an old NeXT program). www.rbrowser.com

Or if you're running Jaguar you should be able to just connect the FTP
site as if it were a network drive, Finder | Go | Connect to Server |
ftp://ftp.nluug.nl <return>

and click your way through the site
pub/comp/macosx/volumes/ii2

to get to the ii2.dmg file (but it's an alias) so you can then drag
ii2-200308032058.dmg to your desktop, just change the name to ii2.dmg
once it's done downloading.
