[texhax] How to invoke pfdtex

Hi,

I have installed MikTex on 1 November 2003.  It works fine.  I would like 
to output .pfd files so I can send them to nonTeX people.

How do I invoke .pdf output?  When I type "pdftex <filename.tex>" at the 
DOS prompt, that is associated with the subdirectory that that contians the 
TeX input file in question, I get an error message in the DOS window saying 
it cannot locate pdftex.tex.  I use the YAP viewer that came with MikTeX.
