[texhax] Problems with WinTeX

Reader,

Please realize I am clueless about what WinTeX is, and how to use it.  I
have been asked by a boss of mine to research a problem she is facing.
Here goes my explanation:

As soon as we upgraded her version of WinTeX to the newest version last
May, she started getting "%%@" placed in her .tex files all over the
place when viewed in Notepad, Wordpad, etc..

When she saves files and tries to have her colleague view them, he
cannot anymore.

Lastly, there are problems compiling the code when figures are included.
