[texhax] Tables from Files

I use gnumeric, the spreadsheet application from the gnome project, to
do this. Gnumeric is very much excel-like, and will import excel files,
csv, etc.

More critically here, gnumeric will export latex, in a form that can be
used either as a latex fragment to be \input into your latex source or
as a stand-alone latex document. It will preserve much of the formatting
as setup in the spreadsheet, but will, of course, use latex fonts and
such.

I use it under linux but I notice that the homepage (google gnumeric)
also shows a Win32 version.
