[texhax] pound-sterlings

Dear Tom,
One more piece of information about my dvips -Ppdf
problem.  If I drop any use of a font-selection
package, then
[dvips -Ppdf -o book.ps book.dvi]
yields a book.ps file which does not print
with pound-sterlings for "fi" - all is well.

But, I want to use a Times font!
