It appears that TeXLIve is alive and well and has recently been
updated. And the TeX community, including such luminaries as Han The
Than, Taco Hoekwater, Hans Hagen etc. continue to develop their
respective bits and pieces. It appears to me that the torch has been
passed and TeXLive is now the canonical distribution.
I am sure my betters will correct any mistakes in the above.
