What I mean is that not all fonts can be expected to be installed
everywhere.  Unicode is nice, but you still need the "real" fonts.

If you don't need math fonts, there is no problem.  Many system fonts
provide glyphs for many languages.  But math fonts are still
problematic.

Do you (or someone else) know whether SVG fonts are supported by
current web browsers?

I tried the jsMath examples.  Though absolute coordinates are
transformed when I increase the font size, math symbols and greek
glyphs are provided as bitmaps if the fonts are not available.  Maybe
SVG fonts would be a solution.
