If the problem is that your computer is looking for teTeX but in fact  
has installed TeXLive (as it should have) try the following.
Go to System Preferences. There should be an icon on the bottom line  
called something like "TeX distribution." If you open that preference
you can choose between teTeX and TeXLive. I think that should solve  
your problem.

ps. I notice that you are at BU. There is a local user group for TeX  
at Brandeis which is open to anyone in the Boston area. We don't meet  
terribly often, but it might be useful to you.
