That's right. The thing is I use "babel" and if you use "babel"
\lefthyphenmin and \righthyphenmin are taking no effect.

conventionally correct values for English,

That's the reason why I would like to change that. I can't stand such short
hyphenation, I really wish LaTeX would provide an option for "Hyphenation
Zone" and "Limit consecutive hyphen"; would make things soo much easier...
