[texhax] \raggedright destroyes paragraph indentation

Im writing a thesis and am required to have paragraphs both indented
on the first line and left justified. The thesis style I am using is
indented but not left justified. This problem is corrected by using
\raggedright in my preamble but \raggedright destroyes LaTex's natural
indentation of paragraphs! Does anyone know how I might fix this. I am
relatively new to TeX so examples would be appreciated. Thanks
