[texhax] \documentclass{letter} Greek characters

I have an odd problem with the documentclass{letter} when using Greek
and English. Everything seems to work just fine except for the headings
on the second page of the letter which are rendered in Greek characters
even though they show as Latin characters on the 1st and 3rd pages.
This only happens if there is a linefeed between the English and Greek
environments on the page following the error.

Attached are the tex, dvi and pdf showing this.

I haven't been able to find an answer on the web and don't know where to
look.

I can work around this simple example by removing the linefeed but the
original problem was caused I think by an \enumerate containing both
English and Greek spilling over a page break. I no longer have this file
to play with.

Any suggestions on what is happening and why?

Regards
Richard.
