I see that in the TeXLive mailing list Norbert Preining had already dealt with the path problem in his reply, but don't forget that you can't mix encodings...

Well, as a matter of fact, yes, you can ---you can type one chapter of a book in one encoding and another chapter in a different encoding, and \include or \input them in one master document, but you wont like the result...

Remember ---the important thing is which encoding is being used in the editor ---that's the one you should tell LaTeX to load.
