[texhax] Beamer formatting

Hello all,

I am having a formatting issue with beamer here and I can't really seem to
find the fix. I must confess that I am a little confused sometimes by the
finer details of beamer although as a whole I love it. The example below
produces the issue I am trying to remove. The small break at the bottom
right hand corner on the sidebar is distracting but I can't seem to figure
out how to simply extend the bar all the way to the bottom of the frame. I
would like keep the frame number.

Any ideas on how I might be able to fix this?

\documentclass{beamer}[14pt]
\usepackage{beamerthemesplit}

\usetheme{PaloAlto}
\setbeamertemplate{footline}[frame number]
\setbeamertemplate{navigation symbols}{}

\title{Test}
\begin{document}
\frame{\titlepage}
\end{document}
