[texhax] How do you make * macros?

besides the constructions already mentioned I'd like to mention xparse as well

I needed a macro that can do this

\name*{arg}[opt]*{arg}[opt]

(or simething similar)

with xparse that is a piece of cake, for example creating a macro with

\name{arg}[opt]{arg}[opt]

one can do

\DeclareDocumentCommand\name{momo}{...}
