That's where I really miss Cerilica's Truism technology, which allowed one to specify the colour characteristics of the underlying substrate --- it would then model how inks would mix on top of that.

Even cooler was that one only specified a single PANTONE ink swatch for a given project --- whether it was coated or uncoated was defined at the paper level, and one could specify (for example) a tipped in page which was coated stock, while the balance of the project was uncoated stock and see (an approximate) representatin of the colour difference on-screen.
