Thanks for the information (to everybody, of course). Actually I did play chess several years ago (very irregularly and on the lowest level possible), but I'm not a native English speaker, so the word "Patzer" in the context of chess was unknown to me. Googling for "Pätzer", "Patzer", "Expätzer", "Hpätzer" or "Texpätzer" doesn't return interesting results either. I should have looked on Wikipedia:
