Hello Mike,
If by chance you have access to Acrobat Pro, there is a crop function which allows to reduce
the bounding box to a chosen area.
Similar results should be possible with Adobe Illustrator.
If you have nothing of these, open the eps-file with an editor (SciTe is a good choice) and
change the bounding box numbers by hand. PS or EPS-files are mostly ASCII and can be edited (at least the bounding box). But that is try and error and might take some time.

Hi All,
I have a latex document with text over a colour (non-white) background (say gray). I'm trying to obtain an EPS file whose bounding box (BB) encloses the text area only.
However, using ps2eps doesn't produce a smaller BB since the script apparently seeks a whitespace but here the background is non-white.
Would appreciate suggestions how to crack this. I'm looking for a way to automate the process as much as possible and not having to manually examine each PS file and extract the BB.
Thanks,
Mike.
