[texhax] minipage/parbox that shrinks horizontally to actually needed space

Hello,

some months ago someone posted here about a package containing a variant of
minipage/parbox that first typesets this box, then shrinks the reserved
horizontal space to the actually needed space. Unfortunately I forgot the
details, and my search foo again failed me. Can anybody help?
