Have you considered using the stixfonts instead? I believe there's pdflatex support for them now.

A lot of work has gone into them, and I think they make the world a better place, and it would just be better if all the effort on similar things was just poured into them --- certainly our own Barbara Beeton has invested an incredible amount of effort in it.
