[texhax] controlling table locations

Looks like a perfect solution!

I tried it by inserting (according to the pdf documentation)

\usepackage{endfloat}

or

\usepackage[nolists,tablesfirst]{endfloat}

in front of \begin{document}

and it failed:

\openout4 = ‘paper.fff’.
(paper.fff)) Runaway argument? ! File ended while scanning use of \efloat at xfloat.

Maybe it has become incompatible with the current LaTeX?

I'm off to a trip - probably won't be able to respond for a few days.
