Greetings.

You are producing a poster? I have used poster (or pdfposter), there
seem to be a few poster packages. The document I produced was for A1
paper (not that any printer in Canada knows what it is :-) ), which is
a non-square format of 1 square meter area (so a bit more than 39.3
inches by a bit less than 39.3 inches).

Have you tried looking at the poster packages to see if one of them
works for you?

If you need to print it out on different size paper, I found a program
called PosteRazor handy. It will "slice up" the big image into
overlapping chunks of whatever paper size you are using. It is a
python program (I believe) wrapped around some "standard" utilities,
which works via a GUI. For me, the last step in the conversion wasn't
"obvious". What PosteRazor produces, is a multipage PDF for each page
of your large format document. I suspect you might need to "explode" a
multipage large format document into single page documents manually.
