[XeTeX] Re: "I can't find the format file `xetex.fmt'!"

I had the same problem:


fmtutil: format directory `/Users/simi/Library/texmf/web2c' is not
writable.
I can't find the format file `xelatex.fmt'!


Removing fmtutil.cnf from /Users/simi/Library/texmf/web2c and  
reconfiguring the last xetex solved the problem. You can as well  
reconfigure tex installation (format building) since xetex seems to  
properly change the  fmtutil.cnf in texmf.local. However, I had my  
private fmtutil.cnf (apparently made by some previous instalallation  
- bug ?) and it took precedence.
