Hi Ralf,

Can't claim to have looked into the specifics here:
I expected
   \font\1="FPL Neu" at 36pt\1 test
to work but I was only successful with
   \font\1="FPL Neu Roman" at 36pt\1 test

XeTeX *should* be able to select the font based on its family name,  
but here it fails...
