No, they don't. Type 3 support has always been limited to indirect  
usage in tools which support PostScript and one used them in  
graphical environments (NeXTstep and other Display PostScript systems  
being the exception) by acquiring or building a bitmap screenfont for  
on-screen use, setting the type with that, then allowing the system  
to sub in the Type 3 font when it output PostScript.
