[XeTeX] colored background for a paragraph

Hello List,
I'm trying without much success to have a grey background for a  
paragraph.
So far what i've been most sucessful with is:
I've gotten it into a box (but not grey, I guess pstricks is the  
culprit) with:


\usepackage{psboxit}

\begin{boxitpara}{box 0.7 setgray fill}
paragraph
\end{boxitpara}

  or a grey background but then lines don't wrap giving me an  
overfull hbox.
\usepackage{xcolor}

\colorbox {lightgray}{paragraph}


What other packages are there around that might work?
