[XeTeX] pointing angle brackets

As far as I can see, DejaVu has only so-called mathematical angle
brackets U+27E8/U+27E9. It is actually recommended to use those
characters instead of U+2329/U+232A in any non-CJK contexts: using
U+2329/U+232A is discouraged due to their canonical equivalence to 
U+3008/U+3009, which are supposed to be CJK double-width characters. 

The bad thing here is that there are already enough legacy documents
with U+2329/U+232A, so that font designers have either to ignore 
backward compatibility issues, or to include in their fonts 3 pairs of
absolutely identical characters, thus making the correct choice even
more difficult for end users.
