[XeTeX] can not build xetex0.998.3 in linux

How many build-xetex executables exist in your search path? What is

when executed in a shell?

Obviously GCC has a problem. Do you have some environment variables  
set that contain the five letters F L A G S? For example, what is  
reported from:

	env | grep FLAGS

And what is reported from:

	which gcc
	gcc --version

And what is your operating system? Can or could you compile any other  
software? In case you are on some Linux: did you also install  
development packages? Without at least a few of them you won't be  
able to compile a programme ...
