[XeTeX] aquamacs preview with XeTeX

Dear all,


This is a bit of an off-topic question but I'm guessing some  
experienced XeTeX users would direct me to the answer straight away.  
I'm using XeLaTeX to typeset my thesis on a Mac (OSX10.5). I've been  
using textmate as an editor for two years but I'm not overly satisfied  
with it and would like to switch to emacs. I installed aquamacs with  
Auxtex: it all works a charm except for the inline preview: for a  
pdflatex based document I can get the images and equations rendered in  
the source code (pretty neat) but for a XeTeX document it fails  
miserably to preview. From the log, it looks like it's trying to run  
pdflatex which obviously is doomed to failure. I don't know where to  
change the engine for the preview (the actual compilation is set and  
works with XeLaTeX). Perhaps this is not possible, I haven't found any  
clue on google. Below is a small sample of the log:

I'm a complete newbie when it comes to customizing emacs, so I'd be  
most grateful for a basic level explanation on what to change and where!
