[XeTeX] custom footnote rules w/ ednotes, polyglossia & bidi

I'm sorry, I mistyped. Of course \setRTLmarginpar has nothing to do with it. I meant \setRTL, because I am using ednotes (which uses manyfoot). I have three levels of footnotes. I want to define the footnote rule of one level (level B, for example) as right-to-left, but the others leave the LtR. I have tried to simply use \rightfootnoterule for the definition of my "level B" of footnotes, but this did not work.

In addition, I am looking for help on how to change the direction of the footnote rule in *one section of the text only*.

If anyone has any experience with ednotes/manyfoot and bidi, I would greatly appreciate it.

Kind regards,
Talal

p.s. My apologies to all for the number of emails, and for accidentally starting more than one thread, on the same subject. I am new to using such an email list.

Currently, when I put "\setRTLmarginpar" at the beginning of the arabic section of my thesis, and at the end -- when I wish to go back to English and thus to a LTR footnote rule-- I type \setLRmarginpar, nothing happens. I probably need to make a newenvironment of some type, but that hasn't worked either.
