Hi Joachim,
Actually, I did. In my original posting, perhaps I should have been more specific. I was trying to find a "GUI" utility which would allow for these functions and also allow for a finer degree of control than I've been able to obtain with the command line utilities. Eventually (perhaps not in the first or second iteration), I would like to have something very similar to the PDF optimizer available with the full version of Acrobat.
