[XeTeX] Babel

\begin{document}
\begin{equation}
1+2=3

\begin{eqnarray}
1+2&=&3
\end{eqnarray}
\end{document}

Problem: first equation is on left, second equation on right.

Expected Behaviour: both equations should be on the same side. Preferably
on the right in this case.
