[XeTeX] subfiles and number lines

I did not test anything, but:
in master.tex, replace \include{param} with \input{param}. \input reads the file 
and executes the contents as if it were in place of the \input command. \include 
does more, and is meant for inclusion of chapters.

Perhaps that already does the trick?
