The Elsarticle (\texttt{elsarticle.cls}) and \acro{CAS}
(\texttt{cas-sc.cls} and \texttt{cas-dc.cls}) packages are Elsevier's
recommended \LaTeX{} class files for manuscript submissions to their
journals. Despite the availability of comprehensive documentation,
authors unfamiliar with \LaTeX{} or those who overlook the guidelines
often encounter issues during manuscript preparation. These issues can
lead to extensive email correspondence and submission errors, such as
incorrect metadata involving email addresses and corresponding author
details. This paper aims to catalog these common pitfalls and offer
practical solutions to streamline the submission process for authors.
