Re: the nature of \sin

I believe that in a Palatino/CMR conflict situation for \sin, we should keep
\sin in Palatino, i.e. in the text font. Because if the user has chosen
Palatino or any other font, then ---at least in his/her humble opinion---
this means that the text fonts fit well to CMMI. Suppose that the word
`sinus' appears in text, and a line lower one finds $\sin$; wouldn't it be
unhappy if these two were written in different fonts? don't forget that not
all maths are in display mode. Of course this is not an absolute truth, and
there should be an option left for those who would like to have CMR \sin.
But it should not be the default mode.
