[tex-k] pdf file flue

Hi, 

This is one of the latex admirers.

I have been using latex on unix for the first time and
i'm experiencing a strange problem:

After creating the pdf file, when opening it, the
chararcters look deformed using acrobat 4.0.

I'm running simple commands like : 

latex file.tex
dvipdf -o file.pdf file.dvi
