Did you install UDF on the whole stick (/dev/sdx) or did you create a
partition table and installed it in a partition (/dev/sdx1)?  If you
did the latter, do you remember the file system type you specified?
fdisk's default is Linux (0x83) but AFAIR UDF needs something like
VFAT which might be supported by fdisk under another name.  I remember
that the file system type in the partition table was crucial but I
don't remember what I actually did.

However, creating UDF on the whole stick worked fine and I'll try the
stick on Windows tomorrow.
