[texhax] Layout problem with graphics

Hi,
I'm new to the list. I've been using LaTeX on and off since it first
appeared, but wouldn't qualify as an 'expert'. A friend asked me if
I could solve a problem for him - he needs to display images
close to the left edge of a page - less than the basic 1" margin.
I've tried various possibilities, but so far the image always ends
up at least 1" in. Can anyone suggest a method to get the
image 0.25" from the paper edge?
