[texhax] Spacing with maketitle

Barbara,

Thanks for the reply.  I was unfamiliar with an asterisk version of
\vspace.  Unfortunately, all that seems to do is insert a blank page
prior to the start of the document and page 2 still runs into page 3
for the quote.
